This autumn, Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is delighted to welcome David Mellor Design for a 1 month exhibition in the hotel’s prestigious White Box gallery.

Founded by the late David Mellor (1930–2009) CBE and Royal Designer for Industry, the company has become a cornerstone of British design, celebrated internationally as a designer, manufacturer, and retailer. Today, its values and vision are carried forward by Corin Mellor, who succeeded his father as Creative Director in 2002.

At the heart of David Mellor Design is a simple yet powerful belief: well-designed equipment can improve everyday life. Specialising in metalwork, the company is best known for its cutlery—world-renowned for its attention to detail and purity of design. The company’s policy is to build on its inheritance of traditional metalworking skills and Sheffield craftsmanship whilst making the most of evolving new technologies.

David Mellor is a company in which the visual qualities are paramount. In an increasingly throw-away culture they are more than ever convinced of the importance of good design.

This exclusive exhibition surveys the historic tableware designs of David and Corin Mellor and runs from Monday 1st to Tuesday 30th September, open daily from 10am to 6pm.
